PILLARS OF DIVINE GUIDANCE

Part Two


The following are the actual Pillars of Divine Guidance. If you consider building God’s vision for your life by these pillars, you will surely succeed in life. They are pillars that enhance effective direction of God’s divine program.

• Do you need direction for your life?
• Do you want to be sure that God is in what you are doing?
• Are you confused about the next step to take?
• Do you want the leading light of the voice of God to guide you in all your ways?

If your answer is YES to any of the above questions, I will like you to take a close look at the following pillars of divine guidance. You will therefore discover the secrets of God which enhance effective transition in your life’s purpose for great results.


• The Word of God. Psalm 119:105

The Word of God is the most powerful pillar of divine guidance. If you anchor your life with the dictates of the living word of God, it will light your entire path and remove all limitations. If you really want God’s Will to be very clear to you, go to His word and find out. Your destiny, I believe is buried in the living word of God. Your next step in life towards your purpose will not fail in Jesus Mighty Name. I pray the light of His word will continue to shine on your path for you to see the glory of God in your life. Search the word daily to find out what God is saying concerning your life, and when you discover it follow it with all your heart.

• The Holy Spirit. Romans 8:14

When you draw close to the Holy Spirit in prayer, He will lead you in all your ways and bring you to great success.

• Dreams and Visions. Genesis 15:1, 1 Samuel 3:2-15, Genesis 46:2

The next Pillar of divine guidance is dreams and visions. Great men like Abraham, Isaac and Samuel followed the direction of God for their lives to fulfill their destiny. Sometimes when God want’s to move in your life in order to bring direction to you, He does it through prophetic dreams and visions.

• Enquiries. I Samuel 23:1-5, Job 4:13-16

The pillar of enquiries is the place where you go to God in prayer to receive His divine blue print regarding an issue in your life. It is the place of asking God to show you the right way especially when you do not know what to do.

• The Prophet. Hosea 12:10

The prophet of God is a divine agent of God on the earth to reveal the secrets of God to His people. A true prophet of God can bring divine direction into your life. In the Old Testament, another name for the prophet was the seer. The prophet sees into the spirit realm to unlock mysteries of the kingdom, to bring guidance to God’s people.

• Counsel. Proverbs 11:14, Proverbs 15:22

God can place people into your life at different times for the sole purpose of bringing divine counsel into your life. Open your eyes to locate the people God has placed around you. Your ability to deal wisely with your counselors will determine how you will receive God’s direction through them.

All of the above pillars of divine guidance can be used at all times to determine the way of the Lord for your life.

LIFE APPLICATION

Further research into the above Pillars of divine guidance is needed to ensure effectiveness of God’s direction for your life. Get your note book and write all the instances in your life you have ever received guidance from any of the pillars explained in this teaching. Write down the different areas of your life where you need divine guidance, it may be possible that the Lord will guide you from one of the pillars above.

INTRODUCTION PAGE OF THE BOOK

From the time we are born into this world until the time we pass away into eternity, it’s as if mankind goes on an imaginary journey to a land where one has never been. It is called an adventure, where you would find yourself confronted by the fear of the unknown; an unknown land, strange cultures and roads you have never used. From the time you are born through schooling, marriage, careers and friendships you will be confronted with unfamiliar languages, strange traditions and the fear of uncertainty.

You could never make such a journey through life successfully unless you have some direction from a guide who will lead you by understanding the paths that you must follow and direct you each step as you go along. This guide should be somebody who already knows where you are going.

I have a little piece of equipment called the navigator which I always keep in my car, and use especially when I am not sure of my destination and do not want to waste my time driving around asking strangers for directions. Any time I use this navigator, I can rest assured in my heart because it is able to talk to me and tell me where to turn to and where not to go. Since I started using it, I am able to plan my journeys effectively and I no longer need to leave home two hours early in case I get lost.

Life is like that, for people who do not know the Lord Jesus Christ as their redeemer and also for those that are saved. People find themselves on a strange land and amongst strange people, not knowing where they are going and in desperate need of a guide (navigator). Contrary to a popular misconception, your destiny does not answer to luck and guesswork and neither does God expect you to sort your life out by your smartness.

Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not rely on your own insight. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.
Proverbs 3:5-6 (NRSV)

God has a personal interest in your life and He wants to direct you and guide you this day into your destination of life. He is the first and the last, the beginning and the end and He knows the end from the beginning. The Almighty is the guide and the navigation that can lead you and keep you away from strange places and people that can disrupt your destiny.

The Scripture above is a personal promise from God that if you will trust in the Lord and acknowledge Him in all your ways, He will direct your path. The Lord wants you to acknowledge Him in all your choices, decisions and desires of life. If you make a decision today to just acknowledge the Lord by yielding to His leadership and guidance He will be committed to bring divine direction to every area of your life.

Divine direction is the doctrine of determining God’s plan for your life without the interferences of your carnal desires. The direction of every man determines his destiny. This book will open your eyes and help you to establish your destiny by divine direction.

THE SHEPHERD OF YOUR SOUL

“The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures; he leads me beside still waters; he restores my soul. He leads me in right paths for his name's sake.”Psalms 23:1-3 (NRSV)


When the Lord is your Shepherd, He takes the responsibilities of leading you to the path of righteousness and beside the still waters. It is very comforting to know that when God directs you, He will never lead you into danger, pain or lack. His guidance will lead you into the abundance of all things and you will never be in need of anything.

“Lord Jesus, I commit all my ways to you, and pray that you lead me on every way into my future,“ that should be your prayer today. As your Good Shepherd, the Lord will feed you when you are hungry. He will comfort you when you are sad, when you are in need, He will provide your needs. When you are confused, He will lead you into all truths by the Holy Spirit.

David attributed his lying in greener pastures to the Shepherd of his soul. I pray for you that the Shepherd of your soul will guide your life and lead you into successful business ventures, happy marriages and prospering careers to fulfill your dreams and desires in life. His leading will also deliver you from the hands of your enemies and keep you in the path of life everlasting by His sweet and gentle voice.

This is the season to give the Good Shepherd of your soul, full control over your life. Jesus will lead you into success which you have never experienced before. Life is a mystery and sometimes satanic serpents and demonic lions lie in waiting on the route of our destiny to destroy the full counsel of God for our lives. Moreover, when God leads you on the right paths, He empowers you to locate the dangerous traps of wickedness ahead of you.

I pray that for the rest of your life, the Lord will be the guide of your soul. I pray you will never miss His leading.


LIFE APPLICATION

Declare that, because the Lord is your shepherd, you will never be in shortage of anything. As you continue to walk with the Lord, be determine to give Him your whole soul and spirit.

AS I HEAR SO I JUDGE

"I can do nothing on my own. As I hear, I judge; and my judgment is just, because I seek to do not my own will but the will of him who sent me.” John 5:30 (NRSV)

The force of divine direction humbles us in Christ where we all admit that we can do nothing on our own. Sometimes, even in your best intellectual state as a child of God, the challenges of life can make you incapable and limited to know the cause of your life without divine direction. “I speak over your life, that you will do nothing of your own, except what the Father has commanded you to do.” Child of God, it is crucial that you hear the clear voice of God that brings you the direction you need so you can say with gladness, I only do what my Father in heaven instructs me to do.
If you are reading this today and God has already given you a dream to pursue and undertake an assignment, all you need now is divine direction. Divine direction is the currency for every outstanding destiny. From your dream through to your destiny, divine direction is the wheel that your goals and actions ride on majestically for accomplishment. Having a desire to undertake an assignment without direction can lead to a waste of resources, time and energy.

Your ear must be divinely open to the voice of the Lord to always hear what He has to say to you regarding the next direction of your life. Jesus is a perfect example of how to follow the voice of God. When you are delivered from seeking your own and give your best to seeking God in all that you do, it will make a way for God to lead you by His voice. Your judgment about your plans, dreams, and the direction of your life must be justified by the voice that you hear from the Lord regarding those areas.

I pray you will make it a habit to judge every voice of direction to be sure it is the voice of God speaking to you. For the rest of your life, it is my prayer that you will not miss the voice of God.


LIFE APLICATION

The next time you are thinking of making another decision in life, be careful not to draw your conclusions by your carnal mind. In all your desire to be guided of the Lord be determined to do His will above every thing. Pray that God will quicken your discernment to judge every voice of direction you hear.

THE NEED FOR GUIDANCE

“There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death” Proverb 14:12


The Bible teaches about the way that looks right unto a man and ends up in destruction, but we want to move in the ways of God. In life, many young adults who are ready for marriage and people going into business, ministries need direction.

Somebody said that, “I have a dream to start a business. I have the feeling of doing some kind of courses that will earn me more money, but I really need guidance.” With all our wonderful plans and great aristocratic ideas, we can never be fulfilled in life without God’s guidance. Understand here that you will never reach your highest potential that is self actualization in life as a believer without the desire to be led by the Lord.

One of the greatest missing links in the life of many wonderful people is the lack of divine leadings of the Lord. Businesses have failed, and many marriages have come to a measurable end for the lack of guidance. Reading through the Scriptures, I noticed that all the people who made impact, where divinely lead by the Lord.

If you are reading this today and God has already given you a dream to pursue, all you need now is divine direction. Divine direction is the currency for every outstanding destiny. You can buy your future by the currency of divine direction.

According to Jeremiah 31:9b, God is ready to lead us in great paths we have never known. When He leads you, He turns your darkness into light and He straightens your crooked paths. A wise man said, “I need divine direction from above because I don’t want to miss my timing, I don’t want to do it my own way.” The pressure of people and society will paint a picture of what you must do, yet when you go to God, He will give you the greatest direction that can end all your crises in life. I challenge you to start dreaming of doing some lasting things according to God’s direction and you will never regret it.


LIFE APPLICATION

Life can sometimes present you with many popular options and choices for your guidance, however, the way of the Lord is often narrow and that is why you need His guidance in your life from any form of pressure that overrules your will to take decision.

“So we have not stopped praying for you since we first heard aboutyou. We ask God to give you complete knowledge of his will and togive you spiritual wisdom and understanding.” Colossians 1:9


Your purpose in life is never complete without the knowledge of the Will of God for your life. I pray that as you read through this prophetic writings, you will receive complete knowledge of God’s divine plan for spiritual wisdom and understanding in all that you do. Complete knowledge of God’s Will is a guarantee for undeniable success in your assignment. If you are going to make a difference in your world, I pray you will go for full knowledge for total direction.

Some body said that, “God’s Will for me is to become a doctor.’” This person knows the Will of God for his/her life but needs the knowledge of God’s word that will give him/her access into how to become a doctor. Many people get stack between the times they discover their destiny through to the time of fulfillment of this destiny due to lack of divine guidance. Several others also desire to achieve many things without taking ample time off to train on how to be guided by the Lord. At the end of the day, you want to be assured that the Lord is in whatever you are doing and His leading has been a strong tower to His divine Plan for your life.

It is also true that a vast majority of people are very certain of the will of God for their lives but still gamble with their lives for many years, by trying different things and different ways to succeed without following divine direction. It may really be the Will of God for you to marry, but you must be guided by the Lord to marry the right person. You do not want waste precious time by jumping from one relationship to another to waste your time. You may also feel called into business but remember that your discovery of God’s Will regarding the specific business, you must do will deliver you from many years of struggle. Daily, many people engage in all kinds of things they are passionate about, but are never happy with themselves due to lack of the Lord’s guidance. If you are going to maximize your assignment in life, it is so important you engage yourself with the Pillars of Divine Guidance.

Life Application

After you are certain of your purpose in life, Go to God in prayer and ask Him to give you all the wisdom and knowledge required for you to succeed in life. Pray for the gift of discernment of spirits, to help you avoid people who will like to distract you, regarding their wishes and desires which are not in the Will of God for your life. Always remember that if it is not God, it can not be God.
